QC Councilor to Declare Ai-Ai Delas Alas, Darryl Yap “Persona Non-Grata”
Comedienne Ai-Ai Delas Alas and controversial director Darryl Yap to be declared by a councilor persona non-grata in Quezon City.
Ivy Lagman, the outgoing Quezon City District 4 Councilor, has stated that she intends to file a resolution declaring Kapuso comedy actress, VinCentiment director, and others as ‘persona non grata.’ This is apparently in response to allegations of harassment in the Quezon City seal.
In his campaign materials, mayoral candidate and Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor desecrated the Quezon City triangular seal. Ai-Ai’s act as Mayor Ligaya Delmonte may be seen in the spoof campaign video.
The QC triangle seal with the text ‘BBM-Sara’ was also seen behind the background. Delas Alas, Yap, and Defensor all endorse President-elect Bongbong Marcos, Jr. and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte’s UniTeam.
“I am calling all the content creators, especially Mr. Darryl Yap and Ms. Ai-Ai delas Alas, and many others who were part of this project, to apologize to the citizens of Quezon City for debasing and bastardizing the beloved seal of Quezon City,” Lagman said in his privilege speech at the 94th Regular Session of the 21st City. Council.
“It is a great disrespect and disregard of the laws of our land to superimpose the said seal just to campaign for a politician… I reiterate our call for these people, Mr. Darryl Yap, Ms. Ai Ai Delas Alas, Cong. Mike Defensor and his cohorts, to apologize to the citizens of Quezon City for their actions, and also promise to never do such acts again,” he added.
Meanwhile, Darryl Yap published the news, which was reported by a news site, on his Facebook page. He simply captioned, “Yoko nga.” Ai Ai has not yet responded.
