Regine Velasquez & Moira Dela Torre “nagkasagutan”?
IDOL PHILIPPINES – The judges Regine Velasquez and Moira Dela Torre has this momentary clash of their opinions over “the sound” of this auditionee in IDOL Philippines.
The singing competition “Idol Philippines” is currently dominating the weekend of every Pinoy. It features four judges such as Moira Dela Torre, Regine Velasquez, Vice Ganda, and James Reid – and they are in search for the next “Idol” to be introduced to the world.
And in the recently aired episode, an auditionee from Iloilo City singing her original composition entitled “Karagatan” has caused a momentary tension between Moira and Regine due to the clashing of their opinions about her performance.
“I liked the song, I liked how you performed it, I like your voice… My problem is, ‘you guys have the same sound’ to me I know it’s current but you sound the same and the thing is, I know you’re making the sound, it’s not something you’re born with. You make the sound. It’s the tone that you make,” the Songbird has commented.
Meanwhile, Moira defended, “I understand, ‘yung pinanggagalingan ni Mama Reg, (Regine Velasquez) na ‘yung generation natin, ang daming ganito ang sound… But also Mama Reg, gusto kong i-defend si Leann (Idol aspirant) because for me ang dami ko na din nasulat na kanta, ‘yung mga kanta ko pare-pareho ang tunog until I brought it to the studio and i-arrange na.”
However, Regine insisted that she is not talking about the genre, she is referring to the tone or sound that the auditionee is making which is not her natural voice. In the end, the hopeful Idol got 4 nods from the judges and was even challenged by the Songbird to discover her own singing style.

Regine is on point! She’s been in the platform for 3 decades, nadaanan nya na halos lahat ng henerasyon ng singers. This is Idol Philippines, you have to create your unique sound na maiiba ka sa lahat.
The fact that judges disagreeing to each other makes them the judge… Its showing your own perspective of a performance.
