‘High-Tech’ Illegal Drug Lab Found In Catanduanes, Source For Albay Distribution

Cops discovered a ‘high-tech’ illegal drug laboratory in Catanduanes.

COPS – A ‘high-tech’ illegal drug laboratory was found by police authorities in Virac, Catanduanes.

The Duterte Administration and the Philippine National Police (PNP) both have set a goal to clean the country from the presence of illegal drugs. Since Pres. Rodrigo Duterte assumed the post, a lot of drug users and pushers have already surrendered to the police authorities.

Furthermore, several drug laboratories were already discovered in some parts of the country and several drug operators were arrested by the police authorities. Undeniably, a lot of Chinese nationals are allegedly involved in drugs.

Meanwhile, a previous news report entailed that China support the anti-drug campaign of Pres. Duterte.

Recently, a news report in Sun Star entailed about the ‘high-tech’ drug laboratory found in Barangay Palta Small in Virac, Catanduanes.

Based on the news report, the police authorities found high technology equipment for the manufacturing of illegal drugs in the said laboratory.

The said laboratory is the first hydrochloride methamphetamine lab found in Catanduanes according to Police Regional Director Melvin Ramon Buenafe. Chinese nationals were reportedly behind the drug operation in Catanduanes.

According to Catanduanes Police Provincial Public Safety Company Commander Chief Inspector Charles de Leon, the laboratory found was the source for Albay drug distribution and other areas near it based on the claim of one drug personality.

De Leon further expressed that in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection, they have attempted several times to get into the laboratory but the caretaker and another personality, Paulo Uy, stopped their entry.

According to the news report, Lorenzo Penera, the caretaker of the laboratory, was the only one who was there when the police authorities raided the drug laboratory.

With regards to the property, it is owned by Angelica Balmadrid. However, Balmadrid made it clear that a Chinese national named Jason Gonzales Uy rented her property.
