Architect Palafox considers Marcos’ body not a factor in developing Ilocos Norte’s tourism plan.
MARCOS – Architect Feliciano Palafox Jr. said that the body of the late dictator is ‘never a factor’ in the development of the tourism plan for Ilocos Norte.
The body of the late dictator has reportedly been preserved for several years as it had not been buried due to the decade-long issues regarding its interment. Victims of human rights abuses during Marcos Regime continue to stand firm that Marcos Sr. is no hero.
Just as the oppositions were firm on their stand, the Marcos Family and the late dictator’s supporters were also firm on their stand that Marcos Sr. deserves to be buried at Libingan ng mga Bayani.
After Pres. Rodrigo Duterte secured the post, he gave the go signal for the burial at heroes’ cemetery which was soon blocked by several petitions filed at the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court held an oral argument regarding the matter and favored the burial of the late dictator at LNMB after 9-5-1 voting result earlier this month. In a previous report, Vice Pres. Robredo has aired out her side over the SC’s decision.
