US Presidential election will affect the BPO industry in the Philippines?
US Presidential election concerns have been raised on the impact of president Duterte’s anti-US rhetoric on the BPO industry. This election was said to be a game changing that could gnaw on the country’s BPO industry.
According to a report of Inquirer.net, Jose Mari Lacson, head of research at ATR Asset Management said that the US elections may have an impact in the country, especially to our BPO industry.
Through the use of election, the people will choose their new US president. Because of this, Lacson said that this could have an impact on expectations over economic growth.
Reports said, in recent weeks, the run-up to the US elections has dampened investor sentiment although not just in the Philippines but across global markets.
Marvin Fausto, a fund manager at COL Financial and president of the IFE Financial Advisers Inc explained that 8 out of top 10 BPO companies are US-based, this could put at risk the growth momentum of the Country’s BPO industry.
