For the longest time, many people have been believing these sort of “facts” about health. However, in reality, the are not true.
Eating eggs raises your cholesterol
According to research, food high in cholesterol will not raise cholesterol levels in your blood, Keri Glassman, RD, owner of Nutritious Life attested this. It is a fact that the yolk contains egg’s vitamins, including fat-soluble A, D, E, and K, as well as calcium, iron, and choline. Don’t believe that egg whites only deserves your attention, instead eat the whole egg.
Coffee is dehydrating
Angela Lemond, RD, a national spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics said, “There’s evidence to suggest it can be as hydrating as water.” According to Reader’s Digest, caffeine has a diuretic effect which means it makes you urinate. Coffee and other beverages can be counted in daily fluid intake.
Snoring is normal
Some believe that snoring is a sign of deep, restful sleep but in reality, it’s otherwise. It can be a signal that something is wrong in your airways—a potential sleep disorder. Making noise in your sleep can be acceptable if you have a cold. According to RD, “obstructive sleep apnea has been linked to high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic diseases”.
You don’t really need to floss
According to dentist Ami Barakat, DMD, author of Perfecting Smiles, Changing Lives: Your Guide to an Exceptional Dental Experience, “scientists have unearthed evidence that poor oral health and gum disease are linked to systemic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and even premature births and low-birth-weight babies”.
Eating more protein will give you more energy
Michael Galitzer, MD, coauthor of Outstanding Health: A Longevity Guide for Staying Young, Healthy, and Sexy for the Rest of Your Life said, “one of the healthiest things you can do is go vegetarian for dinner while eating protein for breakfast and lunch.” In addition, eating too much meat can increase acidity in the body and inflammation and this has been linked to many chronic diseases. 50 grams of protein daily and one 4-ounce burger is enough for a day.
Starve a cold, feed a fever
“Being properly hydrated is a balance of fluids and electrolytes. When you’re already low on fluids, only drinking water can be detrimental because you need to replace electrolytes, too,” Angela Lemond said.
Weight loss is a matter of willpower

He also said that this is very powerful. In line with this, willpower is not enough for losing weight.
Only kids get asthma

According to RD, the theory that vaccines cause autism was always a myth. “Vaccines save lives and prevent illness,” Purvi Parikh, MD, an allergist and immunologist with the Allergy & Asthma Network said.
If you never had a food allergy, you never will
People can develop allergies at any stage in life, to practically any kind of food, and the effects can range from mild to severe. “On the same note, you should not premedicate yourself with a drug such as Benadryl to try to eat a food you are allergic to. Each reaction can be different, and an initial mild reaction can become worse on subsequent exposures,” Dr. Parikh said.
