Driver’s License is Now Extended Up To 5 years of Validity
Driver’s license validity is now extended up to 5 years in the National Capital Region (NCR) starting this October. On Tuesday (August 09, 2016) Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that the current 3 years validity of driver’s license will have a longer validity to 5 years.
Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante said that the extended validity of driver’s license will be first implemented in the NCR then the other regions will be followed also. He also admit that still they are receiving complaints about delay in releasing the license.
Last July 25, 2016 on the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Duterte, he promised to lessen the time for processing and issuing licenses and permits to its lowest.
He also mentioned in the SONA that in Davao City where he is the former mayor it will only took 3 days to get permits and license for the local government from barangay level up to Office of the President.
