Duterte: “If I become president, go ahead and sever it”

PDP-Laban Standard Bearer Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte warned Australia and the United States that he will be going to sever alliances with them when he won and sits as president of the country.

Duterte said during his press interview, “If I become president, go ahead and sever it (ties with the Philippines).

He even added saying, “Australian, American ambassadors: Shut your mouth!”

Duterte made his comment last Wednesday, a day after his outburst against the Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Amanda Goley, who criticized him over his remarks regarding the rap3 and d3ath in 1989 of an Australian missionary in Davao Prison.

Goley said, “Rap3 and murd3r should never be joked about or trivialized. Viol3nce against women and girls is unacceptable any time, anywhere.”

The US Ambassador, Philip Goldberg also chimed saying, “I can only agree with the colleague from the Australian Embassy,” Goldberg said it during a television interview.

Goldberg even added that any statements by anyone, anywhere that either degrade women or trivialize issue so serious as rap3 and murd3r, are not ones that should be condoned.
