TV-5 journalist and veteran broadcaster Martin Andanar, the incoming Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary propose to rename the PCCO to just PCO or Presidential Communications Office. The proposal will subsume the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO).
Once approved, the PCCO will be renamed as PCO, this will be a departure from the practice of the Aquino administration of having two cabinet-rank secretaries handling its communication arm. According to Martin Andanar he intends to maintain the online version of the Official Gazette which is handled by the PCDSPO.
The PCDSPO has also been in charge of crafting President Benigno S. Aquino’s messages and speeches during his terms of office as President of the Republic. Based on Andanar’s plans, he will make the PCDSPO as strategic communications division of Presidential Communications Office.
Andanar also revealed that Mayor Rody Dutere’s speech in the highly anticipated Inauguration this coming June 30 is “a work in progress.” He also noted that the presidential secretariat gives a directives to each appointed Cabinet members to sumbit their respective policies so that it could be included in the speech of President Rody Duterte.
Martin Andanar already met with Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCCO) Secretary Sonny Coloma and other officials of the Press Secretary to ensure a smooth transition in the department from the Aquino administration to the incoming Duterte administration.
