P16-M Funds For De Lima’s Campaign Raised By Inmates

P16-M Funds for De Lima’s campaign were raised by inmates in New Bilibid Prison (NBP) headed by Jaybee Sebastian that was convicted of kidnapping and carjacking.

At the New Bilibid Prison, maximum security faction called Presidio Side where Jaybee Sebastian was detained in 2014. Sebastian headed the various gangs and leaders in the penitentiary by giving them a task to raise million worth of funds by selling illegal drugs inside and outside of the national penitentiary.

The collection aims to fund the campaign of justice secretary Leila de Lima as senator as Jaybee cleared the purpose of the funds. Penalties for those who failed to meet the quota and to attend the meeting were executed and will be transferred to NBI jail in Manila and will end the VIP perks at NBP that enjoys their current situation.

Allegations of President Duterte linking De Lima’s involvement in NBP drug trade was denied by the justice secretary. Testimonies and evidence of some inmates against Leila were allowed by the administration according to De Lima’s received information.
