Pilipinas Debate 2016
Finally, the 5 presidents have spoken their sentiments with regards to the issues tackled during their final presidential debate dubbed Pilipinas Debate 2016. The event was held at the Phinma-University of Pangasinan in Dagupat City.
5 Presidential candidates attended the Pilipinas Debate 2016 including; Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Vice President Jejomar Binay, and former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas. The five presidential candidates battled for the very last time discussing several issues that the country is facing right now.
Issues tackled during the debate were: public transport and metro traffic, job security, foreign policy, health, OFW concerns, basic public education, and peace for Mindanaons in conflict areas.
During the segment “Face-off”, candidates were given a chance to ask a question to fellow candidates. In the “Fast-talk” round, the candidates gave their quick response on some relevant issues.
Two weeks before the election, COMELEC, ABS-CBN, and KBP have partnered to set the final showdown of Presidential Town Hall Debate.

“It will now become a tradition that will also be observed in succeeding elections,” Commission on Election Chairman Andres Bautista said hoping that this important event will become a regular addition in future elections.
KBP Board Chairman Herman Basbaño said, “The Dagupan debate is the most proximate to the Election Day and I am sure whatever will transpire will have more influence in the minds of the voters.”
