Makati Policeman Tagged By Duterte, Relieved From PNP For Alleged Extortion
Makati Policeman were relieved from his post in Philippine National Police (PNP) due to alleged extorting money from a Singaporean national.
The alleged corrupt policeman was not yet named by President Duterte but the PNP already release an order to transfer Chief Inspector Sherwin Cuntapay, chief of the Makati police intelligence division to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
A journalist accused Cuntapay of demanding 750, 000 from a Singaporean businessman in exchange for dropping the investigation on the foreigner’s alleged drug ties. PNP was already investigating regarding the complaint, according to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Oscar Albayalde.
The investigation regarding the accusation is now ongoing. On Friday (October 28, 2016), the Singaporean businessman and the accused have a confrontation but the foreigner didn’t file any criminal charges or complaint against the Cuntapay who will be dismissed if the accusations were proven.
