The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has yet to proclaim the winning senators and party-lists. The proclamation was initially set on May 21 (Tuesday) but it was postponed as the certificates of canvass (COCs) from the United States have not arrived.
The Comelec said that the proclamation may happen in a day or two. They just want to make sure that there is no movement in the rankings thus they decided to wait for the COCs from US.
Although the proclamation has yet to happen, Sen. Bam Aquino already conceded defeat. Based on a report on ABS-CBN, the Senator released an official statement expressing that he accepted the results.
Meanwhile, the Senator assured that his love for the Filipino people and his desire for public service has not run out. According to him, even before the day of the election which was on May 13, he had already entrusted the result to God.
Sen. Aquino stressed that his faith for God’s plan for him and the country is full. Based on the report, he expressed his gratitude to those he has worked with and has supported him in his political career.
Here is the official statement of Sen. Bam Aquino:
Based on the report, speaking to the ABS-CBN before the midterm election, the wife of the Senator previously expressed that he might be back to social entrepreneurship in case he fails in his senatorial bid.
