Senator Miriam: ‘Daang Matuwid’ Is The Ultimate Frustration Of Filipinos

Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago lashed out at the current Aquino administration for the first time in her campaign having a few days for the 2016 elections.
Senator Miriam on daang matuwid ultimate frustration

In a talk at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) on Thursday, May 5, Senator Miriam said that the “Daang Matuwid” campaign of the administration had become a “symbol of disappointment for the Filipinos” because of the failed promises the government gave.

“The righteous path that the administration has campaigned on in 2010 turned out to be the ultimate frustration of the Filipino people,” said Santiago as quoted by Inquirer.

She added the government’s straight path promised didn’t happen because even going to UST where she talked was very hard because of heavy traffic.

Senator Miriam also mentioned the failure of passing the Freedom of Information (FOI) and the Anti-Premature Campaigning bills which the senator authored in the Senate by the administration

“The administration has failed to implement many reforms to curb corruption. These include the Freedom of Information Bill or Law, which I strongly supported in the Senate, and the Anti-Premature Campaigning Law,” she said.

Santiago has been in the last place in the polls. But, the senator still believes that she will win through the youth vote. The senator is favored by most students and the younger ones to be the president.

Can Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago still win the 2016 Presidential elections?

Will the youth really help the Senator win?

If Senator Miriam really wins the election and becomes the next president of the Philippines, can she reallty eliminate corruption and change the Philippines as a whole?
