An incident of an explosion prompted the rescue of twelve passengers and nine crew members of a motorboat in the waters near Fuga Island and Sanchez Mira in Cagayan on Thursday, November 23, 2023, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
According to reports, the boat’s hull was damaged, leading to the incident. The damage was observed as the motorboat was sailing between Fuga Island and Sanchez Mira.
The PCG promptly took action to save the lives of those at risk in the incident. With the help of their modern equipment and the effective collaboration of the rescue team, all twelve passengers and nine crew members were rescued from the danger of the submerged sea vessel.
By the time PCG rescuers arrived at the scene, a portion of the motorboat was already submerged underwater. Swift action served as the ticket to the safety of everyone on board.
