U.S Still The Most Powerful Nation In The World, According To Yasay
On Thursday (November 17, 2016), Foreign Secretary Perfecto Yasay said that the United States remains as the world’s most powerful nation.
Despite the new world order led by China and Russia may emerge in the Asia-Pacific, U.S still arguably remains the most powerful among nations, Yasay told reporters on the sideline of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) ministerial meetings.
Yasay acknowledged the shift of power in the country as President Duterte pivot towards Asia. The country’s top diplomat also said that such developments would not totally decline US influence but it would only refrain from exercising its influence.
The foreign secretary noted that the country just shifted their priorities and concerns. He also said that despite the changes in U.S leadership that led by Trump, it will continue to lead among nations.
