Here’s the reaction of Bongbong Marcos to the “weak leader” tag of President Duterte
BONGBONG MARCOS – The presidential aspirant finally reacted to the controversial “weak leader” remark swirled against him by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Bongbong Marcos or BBM runs for president in the coming elections together with his runningmate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. They will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
In an interview with Ruth Cabral of CNN Philippines, he shared his thoughts about the past statement of President Duterte, wherein he was called a “weak leader”.
In November last year, Duterte called Marcos a “spoiled child” and “weak leader”.
His pronouncement came after his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio announced her vice-presidential bid under the leadership of Bongbong Marcos.
But according to BBM, the president’s previous remark was just a “plain politics.”
“I think one of the things we have learned about PRRD is that he likes to keep everyone on their toes,” he said. “Ayaw niya yung masyado kang… he’s always making sure everybody’s thinking hard about what they’re doing.”
Despite the remarks of President Duterte against BBM, it seems that it did not affect his candidacy as he continues to become the leading presidential candidate in pre-election surveys.
President Duterte has yet to drop the name of the candidate he’s going to support in the coming polls but a faction of his PDP-LABAN party led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi has already endorsed Marcos.
