Former Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson is guilty of spreading unverified news on social media.

Fake news has been associated with Uson several times due to her personal blog.

She was criticized for expressing her own opinion behind the fact that she was an appointed government official.

After resigning as the PCOO Asec, the name of Mocha Uson gained attention once again. It is because of Facebook’s decision to take down dubious accounts.

One of the accounts that it took down was the Trending News Portal which is the number one source of Mocha Uson’s post.

A report stated that the former leader of Mocha Girls shared 555 links from TNP out of her 1,937 link posts.

Only 244 links came from legitimate news organizations.187 of her link posts came from verifiedph.blogspot.com while 182 came from kingdomingo.blogspot.com.

Last January 10, Facebook banned all the pages associated to Twinmark Media Enterprises like Trending News Portal and Filipino Channel Online.

Based on PEP’s report, here is the statement of Nathaniel Gleicher, Facebook’s Head of Cybersecurity Policy:

“Today we banned a digital marketing group in the Philippines — Twinmark Media Enterprises and all its subsidiaries — from Facebook.”

“This organization has repeatedly violated our misrepresentation and spam policies — including through coordinated inauthentic behavior, the use of fake accounts, leading people to ad farms, and selling access to Facebook Pages to artificially increase distribution and generate profit.”

“We do not want our services to be used for this type of behavior, nor do we want the group to be able to reestablish a presence on Facebook.”

With this, it can be said that Mocha Uson is guilty of spreading unverified news on social media, based on the report.
