Japan never failed the world to its various unconventional inventions and the latest of which is the first ever “hot tub roller coaster”.
Japan – the haven of unconventional inventions through the years – has its latest attraction that would magnetize tourists from around the world.
The latest attraction that padded up the pile of Japan’s “newest and most unconventional” is the hot tub roller coaster, the first all over the world.
A spa located at the city of Beppu promotes its hot tub roller coaster inside another world’s only, a spa-themed amusement park.
Beppu City Mayor Yasuhiro Nagano said that they had uploaded a promotional video on YouTube for the seemingly bizarre combination of sanitation and adrenaline.
The local chief executive said that once video get a million views, they would build the “spamusement” park.
The two and a half video clip shot at Beppu Rakutenchi park shows the visitors clad in towels climb aboard the usual theme park rides such as the Ferris wheels, carousels, and cable cars, all with built-in bathtubs filled with hot-spring water, bathing pools and steam-room style gaming venues.
The video has already caught the attention of the netizens and had already exceed the views quota, reaching more than two million views.
Mayor Nagano, in a statement to Japanese website Rocketnews24, expressed his gratitude to the people of Japan for their support and shared his intent to pursue the gigantic project.
Nagano did not gave a time frame for the completion of the project but he vowed that the “Yu-enchi” onsen (hot spring) would be a venue that everyone – from all walks of life and status in the community – would enjoy.
He also sworn that the attraction would be an “exciting thrilling tourist destination” that could represent their city and to help the youth feel that it is fun to be at Beppu.
Meanwhile, local and tourist officials assure that the biggest consideration on the planning and building the hot tub roller coaster is safety of the park visitors.
