Commemorative Stamps Of PAL To Be Released By PHLPost

The commemorative stamps are in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Philippine’s flag carrier.

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is joining the Philippine Airlines (PAL) as it celebrates its 75th anniversary, by issuing a commemorative stamp.

The commemorative stamp of the Philippines’ flag carrier on the 75th anniversary features Philippine Airlines flying over a map of the world.

In the commemorative stamp, all the countries are colored grey while the Philippines is in brillant blue.

On the top of the commemorative stamp is the word “Pilipinas”. Below the stamp, there written, “Philippine Airlines 75”, and the new slogan of the company: “The Heart of the Filipino”.

Philippine Postal Corporation has commissioned the security printer, Amstar Co., to print 101 thousand copies of the commemorative stamp to be sold for P12 each.

The design of PAL’s 75th anniversary commemorative stamp was made by graphic artist Rodine Teodoro based on the photo provided by Marla Manundo of the flag carrier.

The stamp and official first day cover are available at the Central Post Office’s Post Shop in Manila and also in other area post offices nationwide.

PAL is the trade name of the Philippine Airlines Holdings, Inc., the Philippines’ flag carrier.

It is the first in Asia and the oldest of those commercial airlines currently in operation, with a long and distinguished record in the aviation industry.

PAL was founded in February 1941 by a group of entrepreneurs, led by Andres Soriano, of the leading industrialists in the Philippines.

The PHLPost was recently mentioned by President Rodrigo Duterte during his working visit in Japan.

He said that while the number of lovers and relatives sending written letters to each other, the financial arm of the PHLPost, the PHLPost Bank, must have a use for the Oversease Filipino Workers (OFWs), especially in Japan.

He said that he plans to put up a branch of PHLPost Bank in Japan for ease banking access of the Filipino workers based in the said country.
