Sen. Miriam Claims P300 Million Offer To Withdraw Her Race

Sen. Miriam Offered P300m To Withdraw

PRP (People’s Reform Party) standard bearer Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago admitted that she was offered P300 Million to withdraw from the presidential race.

As what we have seen in some surveys, Sen. Miriam is at the bottom with only 3% in the overall data result. She even described as “commercial surveys” just to turn off potential campaign contributors and make her out of the race.

Yesterday in her speech in front of many cheering students at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna, she said that the survey could be a part of conspiracy coming from her rivals to ease her out of the race.

Sen. Miriam to Withdraw

“My situation is so difficult. They are trying to pull down my survey standing so I would lose campaign contributors. And if I lose funding, they will ask me to withdraw from the race and give me P300 million as reimbursement for my campaign expenses,” she said in Filipino.

Sen. Miriam didn’t mention any names but she said that the P300 million offer was reached through her husband. “Marami sila,” she said referring to those who wants to bribe her.

She even added, “I’m from UP. What would I do with that money? I’ll grow old before I finish counting that money.”

According to a report by Philstar, she said it is puzzling that while she is underdog with other presidential candidates in national surveys, she has consistently topped mocked polls that was been conducted in most universities and colleges across the nation. “Binanayaran ang mga ito,” she said referring to mainstream surveys.

“This should not be the case. So I hope you will go to your homes and your neighborhoods and tell them about this sorry conspiracy,” she said.
