TABAL – A native of Cebu, Mary Joy Tabal gives the Philippines another pride as she finished the women’s marathon at 3:02:27, Rio Olympics 2016.
To be an Olympic athlete is already a proof of great skills and hard work behind the sporty individual. One can’t simply play the sport to be qualified in the Olympics. He/She should go beyond the average level, possess great skills, put in great efforts, and keep on surpassing own records.
One athlete who was really determined on her chosen field is Mary Joy Tabal who ranked 124th in the Rio Olympic Race. As reported in Inquirer, Tabal is one of the 133 running athletes who finished the race – some never pushed to continue it.
Tabal is the first Filipina marathoner to have joined and qualified in the prestigious sports competition, the Olympics.
