Here are the healthy habits that will boost your immune system
IMMUNE SYSTEM – Having a strong immune system is not just about the food you eat or the exercise that you do but your everyday habit also contributes to strengthening it. These habits can help a lot in your immunity against illness, based on the article from The Healthy.
Find time to be calm
Meditation can really help, according to Tania Elliott, MD, infectious disease expert and allergist at NYU Langone in New York City. A two-minute pause every day to just breathe and focus on the now can relieve anxiety and tension. “Chronic stress can have a negative impact on your immune system,” Dr. Elliot said.
Giggle
As they say, “laughter is the best medicine”, and indeed medical practitioners support this. Squash some stress by having a good laugh from the things, persons, or whatever that makes you happy. When you giggle, your body releases neurons that help fight stress and potentially, illnesses.
Sing
Singing activates the spleen, helping to increase the blood concentrations of antibodies and boost the immune system, according to a study of a German choir. If you do not prefer singing with a group, you can also sing alone in your bathroom.
Exercise
According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, exercise changes the antibodies and white blood cells in your body. This will help you fight diseases and infections. Dr. Elliot suggested that people can incorporate more movement while doing simple things like you can do stretching while watching TV or walk back and forth while talking with someone on the phone.
Get a rest
Getting enough sleep at night helps your body recover from the mental and physical stress of the day, according to Dr. Elliot. Your immune system will be preserved if you have enough recovery days in your training schedule.
Don’t let yourself freeze
The immune cells don’t fight as strongly against viruses when you are cold as what some research suggested. You are more likely to catch an infection if you are cold.
