The incoming Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary under the Duterte administration DOJ Sec. Aguirre is set to announce the undersecretaries of seven government agencies under the Department of Justice. The vetaran lawyer, Atty. Vitaliano Aguirre revealed that one of DOJ’s undersecretary is a woman lawyer while the other four undersecretaries are fraternity brothers.
DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre revealed during an interview on Monday that one of his appointees as undersecretary in the Department of Justice is a woman lawyer from Clark Development Corporation while the other other four are practicing lawyers from the private sectors but members of San Beda’s most popular Lex Taliones Fraternities.
The Department of Justice controls a total of nine agencies namely: Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), Bureau of Immigration (BI), Land Registration Authority (LRA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC), Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), Parole and Probation Administration (PPA), Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG), and Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).
As head of the Department of Justice, Sec. Aguirre promised to fulfill the marching orders of the newly elected President of the Republic of the Philippines in cleaning the ranks of the Department of Justice which controls some of the country’s most powerful government agencies.
The DOJ Secretary is set to name the Director General of Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and the two retired generals, who are applicants for the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) chief post. During the past few days, Sec. Aguirre already revealed that he will use the PNP-SAF to guard Bilibid in coordination with PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa.
In the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) the DOJ Secretary stated that he will let NBI Direcot designate Dante Geran to decide who he wants to be the head of NBI’s attached agencies. For the Bureau of Immigration, Aguirre revealed that he has the names for two associate commissioners in BI.
The DOJ Secretary also noted that his recommendations for the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) post only awaits the decision of President-elect Rody Duterte. Once Aguirre assumes office as DOJ Secretary he promised that he will prioritize resolving the cases on illegal d***s, corruptions and heinous cr!mes.
