Alan Peter Cayetano concedes VP Race
May 12, 2016, Thursday, Vice Presidential candidate Senator Alan Peter Cayetano conceded to his rival Camarimes Sur Representative Congresswoman Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo.
She “clearly won,” says vice presidential race Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
Cayetano said in a statement, “I humbly concede my vice presidential bid to Rep. Leni Robredo, who, by all accounts and with 96% of the votes already tallied, is our country’s presumptive Vice President-elect. Representative Leni is not only leading the race, she has clearly won it.”
“Losing electing hurts,” as Cayetano admitted, he urged every Filipino to unite and respect the people’s will.
He said, “While losing an election hurts, nothing is more painful than the sight of a divided country.”

He added, “Thus, I call on all the other candidates to respect the people’s will and rally behind presumptive President-elect Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte and his presumptive Vice President-elect Leni Robredo.”
He also echoed his tandem, Rodrigo Duterte to start the healing of the country,
“Let us begin the journey toward healing and unification,” he said.
He even added confidently that vice president-elect Leni Robredo would give her full support to President-elect Duterte.
He said in his statement, “I am confident that Vice president-elect Leni will likewise respect and value the people’s will by giving her full support to the country’s new president and his vision to end the disorder in the people’s lives and introduce real change to our country.”
Cayetano also calls on the people to rally behind the newly elected leaders of the country. He added that this is the crucial hour where everyone’s voice is needed the most.
He said, “Let us work together and the process of real change begin.”
