Man Presenting Self As NBI Agent Pulling Gun at Driver on Viral Video is Fake
The viral video of a man presenting himself as a personnel of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was discovered to be fake agent.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has confirmed that the guy who went viral after an altercation with another motorist was not a member of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). A video of a man identifying himself as an NBI agent was shared on social media on June 10.
He challenged another motorist who supposedly worked in the president’s office in the video. After asking a driver to provide his driver’s license, a man presented himself as “from the NBI.”
The man even threatened the driver with a revolver, stating he was a thief. The purported agent, who was dressed in a simple white shirt and slacks, stated that they were conducting an operation and that the driver had blocked him.
The man also pulls out a gun while continuously claiming to be an NBI agent with a real operation, according to the footage. However, DOJ Sec. Menardo Guevarra is not a member of the National Bureau of Investigation and has been summoned for questioning.
“He is now facing possible charges for violation of the Comelec gun ban (if he had no exemption), grave threat, coercion, usurpation of authority, and illegal possession of firearm (if he had no valid license),” Guevarra said.
So far, the men’s camp has been silent. Meanwhile, the president’s office has not stated if the man who was approached by the person posing as an NBI investigator is indeed employed by them.
