Some areas in Valenzuela and Malabon experienced flooding on Saturday due to continuous heavy rain brought by the southwest monsoon.
One of the affected areas is Barangay Arkong Bato in Valenzuela City.
Some motorists hesitated to cross MH del Pilar St. because they might get splashed by water if trucks pass by.
A gas station in the area was also affected by the flooding.
According to the update from the Valenzuela City Command, Control, and Communication Center on Saturday morning, the floodwater in T. Santiago St. reached 10 to 12 inches high, while in Veinte Reales bypass road, it was 6 to 8 inches high.
In Barangay Arkong Bato, the water level in MH Del Pilar St. reached 4 to 5 inches, while near the corner of C. Santiago St. on Mac Arthur Highway, it was only 1 to 2 inches high, allowing all types of vehicles to pass through.
Meanwhile, Dampalit Street in Barangay Muson and Flamingo Street in Barangay Panghulo in Malabon City were also flooded early Saturday morning.
