Flash Floods Hits 6 Towns in Bataan’s Low-Lying Villages
Flash floods hit 6 towns in Bataan’s low-lying villages due to heavy constant rain in the province. The local authorities reported that the intensified southwest monsoon brought the heavy rain and strong wind that causes the floods.
On Saturday (August 13, 2016) flash floods occur in Dinalupihan, eight in Hermosa, four in Orani, three in Samal, two in Abucay and four in Orion according to Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA).
The floods easily subsided in the areas with one to three feet deep. In Hermosa which is prone to flood have more than four deep feet of water. A knee-deep rises to waist deep water in three barangays such as Hermosa, Daungan, and Almacen.
On Friday (August 12, 2016) the flood waters begin to rise at 7:00 a.m according to Rommel Ambrocio, resident in Almacen. The rain was heavy and the water coming from mountain areas goes down strengthen the flow of water in the river which causes the flood according to Rommel.
