The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released its Special Weather Outlook for Semana Santa 2025, covering the period from April 14 to 20. The outlook highlights the prevailing influence of the Frontal System and Easterlies as the dominant weather systems affecting the country during the Holy Week observance.

On Monday, April 14, the Frontal System will bring cloudy skies with rain over Cagayan, Batanes, and Apayao. At the same time, the Zamboanga Peninsula and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will also experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, driven by the Easterlies. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a chance of isolated thunderstorms, especially in the eastern regions.
By Tuesday, April 15, the Frontal System will continue to impact Cagayan Valley, Apayao, and Aurora, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. The rest of the Philippines will remain under generally fair weather, though brief afternoon or evening rain showers may occur, particularly in eastern sections.
From Wednesday to Sunday (April 16 to 20), PAGASA forecasts warmer and more humid weather across the country. This period will be marked by mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. However, localized thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon or evening due to the lingering effects of the Easterlies.
In light of the expected heat during the latter part of the week, PAGASA urges the public to take extra precautions when engaging in outdoor religious activities and traditional processions. People are advised to avoid physical exertion between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, the hottest part of the day. Staying hydrated, seeking shaded areas, and wearing light-colored, breathable clothing are strongly recommended to prevent heat exhaustion, heat cramps, or even heat stroke.
As Semana Santa is a time for reflection and travel for many Filipinos, everyone is encouraged to stay updated on local weather forecasts and advisories for safer and more meaningful observances.
