Announcement was done due to in demand budget carriers in Southeast Asia, and plays a big role in the market industry.

According to a statement, “Customers will be able to view, select and book the best-available airfares on flights from any of the airlines in a single transaction, directly from each partner website”

Cebu Pacific, Philippines lowest air-fare carrier is one of the team. The alliance member airlines are Cebu Pacific of the Philippines, Jeju Air of South Korea, NokScoot of Thailand, Tigerair of Singapore and Australia and Vanilla Air of Japan.

Lance Gokongwei, Cebu Pacific‘s chief executive and president said: “Value Alliance is a clear example of how (budget airlines) can accomplish more by working together than we could do individually.”

The formed alliance will be serving more than 160 destinations.

The members of the alliance are serving more than 47 million travelers from seventeen hubs in 2015.

Founder of Malaysia-based consultancy, Shukor Yusof, of Endau Analytics, said it will benefit the carriers more compared to passengers.

He said, “The idea would be to align airfares so that there will not be too much disparity between the different discount carriers… I suspect that no longer will you be able to get airfares that cost less than a jug of beer.”

Exclusions from the new team include AirAsia Malaysia, Southeast Asia’s largest budget airline, Qantas Airways’ Jetstar Group of Australia, and IndiGo of India.

“But I suspect they will look closely, especially (now) that Scoot and Tiger and the Japanese and Korean LCCs are part of the equation,” Yusof added.

What can you say about this great news? How excited are you about this? Or are you happy with this growing and successful tie up from different countries?
