Man Attempts To End His Life By Jumping Into Lion Cage
In an attempt to end his life, a man who is around 20 years old striped himself and broke into a lion cage inside a zoo in Santiago, Chile.
The man is identified as Franco Luis Ferrada Roman, luckily he survived that horrifying attempt, where 2 African lions had been put down just to prevent them from mauling Franco.
Franco broke into the enclosure, striped his clothes and jumped into the cage in front of their visitors wherein there are children watching. Inside the cage, the predators did not immediately assault him as they were seen “playing at him.” However, zookeepers had no choice but to take action and sh00t the lions in order to save Roman as he was already being charged by the pair.
Director of the zoo, Alejandra Montalba told in a report: “We believe that this person entered as a visitor and paid for his ticket. Later he trespassed into an area where the public are not normally allowed and we understand that he forced the roof of the lion’s enclosure.”
“It was from there that he jumped, took off his clothes and started to attract the lions,” she added.
Grievingly affected by the untimely d3ath of the couple lions, director Montalba explained that there were no fast-acting tranquilizers for them to stop the lions from charging Roman.
Montalba said, “The zoo has an established protocol because people’s lives are very important to us.”
According to the witness of the incident, Cynthia Vasques, there was no immediate and fast response from the zoo security personal when the incident happened. She also said that the lions did not immediately charge Roman.
Another witness also said that they heard Roman screaming “religious things” when he is inside the cage.
Later, they have found a note from Roman’s clothes which revealed that his several references to the apocalypse are the reason for his attempt.
As a result, Roman is suffering from several injuries as well as pelvic and head area trauma. He is no longer in a life-threatening condition.
